  1. 1. The message of this poster is with a growing market, the British are able to make profits off colonized countries. The British would use other African countries to buy things for cheap and sell it for profit at their home country. As time progressed, this would increase profits for the British nation. Another main point to this poster is, the British are saying is something people have in their everyday life can turn into someones treasure for someone else.

    2. The poster gives me a negative view about British imperialism because the British are colonizing countries and taking goods for marketable purposes. The British are taking goods from one nation and selling it for more for their nation. Another reason why I believe this is a negative view about British imperialism is because the British are also losing profit from the goods from the colonized people. During 1915, the British lost profit during this year.

    1. The main message of the posters is to express imperialism. This poster states that the price of good that they received were always less than the price of the goods they sold. This poster states that the goods that they get from Africa are being sold to the people in parts of Britain and even the parts with British influence. This will reduce competition, because there are more customers buying the same thing, than customers buying different products from different companies. They were buying goods that were giving them more money back by selling it to the people.

    2. I think that this poster is spreading negative view of British Imperialism because, it is telling that the jungle will turn to gold mines. Their markets are growing, whereas, the other are not having the benefits, they think that they are inferior, and that they can control their goods. This poster on the other hand is positive, because its displaying trade, and not a real big different. This shows that even if its their good, but it is making the place a gold mine.

  3. The message this poster conceives is that Africa flourishes with the many goods to be sold and earned. The money earned from these resources was a lot which provided Britain with an advantage. This chart expresses the results of what caused Britain to imperialize Africa due to the money and profit they would receive because of the resources they would get. The message of the poster is that the jungles in Africa should be used as gold mines while putting forced labor on the people that live in those villages.
The poster gives a negative view of British imperialism due to the fact that they took advantage of an opportunity that came their way due to Africa being so resourceful. There was probably not a thought in the British people's minds on how the economy and people would feel once British Imperialism occurred. This is a positive view for Britain, but a negative one when discussing this situation in general. Africa never wanted this to happen, but the British took their resources for their own gain. Africa didn't benefit from this situation at all.

  4. The message of this poster is that Africa is a well developed continent filled with food, animals, resources, and ores. They had plenty of resources. This meant that it was a good place to earn money for the British. The phrase: "Jungles Today Are Gold Mines Tomorrow" express that possibility. And from the charts of the amount of Euros they received, the money they earned from taking these resources was a lot. This have been good for Britain, but it definitely wasn't good for Africa.
This poster gives a negative view of British Imperialism. It shows how the Europeans took advantage of the native people and their natural resources. “Jungles today are Gold Mines Tomorrow” means that no one was expecting Europeans to invade the country and start claiming land while turning their homes into money making mines. Some Africans believed that their natural resources were a curse rather than a blessing the reason behind that is rather then getting blessed with their resource they lured in the Europeans and let them invade and take all their resources and not get any money or profit from it at all.

  5. The message of the poster is that british goods that come from africa are worth money. which makes england very wealthy from trading goods. England does that by cutting down african rainforest and doesn't care about the communities are near the rainforest because they are just interested in making money. Because thats there main and only goal when trading. it says in the poster jungles today are gold mines tomorrow which is similar to the phrase "one mans trash, is another man treasure".

it depends on which side because in england. When different people look at the money section of the poster and see that millions of dollars are coming from africa trading, people of england will think positive. However people of africa see this poster they will be confused. Notice how there is no section that says anything about africa earning money. which is negative for the people of africa because they are not making or earning any money.

  6. The message of this poster is to promote trade between Britain and the empire. Also to get people to buy goods from empire countries. In addition, this poster was aimed to get British businesses to look for markets in empire countries and to see if there were any goods they can make profit of from empire countries. The sign shows the profit the British businesses made with the goods sold and bought from other countries.

This poster gives a positive view and a negative view of British imperialism. This shows a positive view because the poster shows that trade with Britain has helped develop the countries and can help them develop further. This is poster also shows a negative view of British imperialism because the poster shows that buying goods from African countries would make Britain have more customers and more business. The more business Britain has the more money they earn which would show a negative view to other countries.

    1. The message of this poster is to show that British expanding their nations power by conquering parts of Africa as colonies of their own. In other words, this poster shows British Imperialism. They British are using their African Colonies to produce the raw materials or natural resources and then they will manufacture the materials into products using their advanced technology. These products will then be sold to their colonies so they can make a profit or they can be used for trade with other nations.
    2. This poster gives a negative view of British imperialism because the British are basically exploiting the African Americans by making them work for the British Empire. Also the people from the British colonies were not treated equally, because they were considered slaves and not people. This also shows that the British is greedy and selfish because they just want the natural resources from Africans and they don’t care about them. The British just wants to expand their power to become the most dominant empire. Lastly, the British colonies resented the British for conquering their colony just for their natural resource.

  8. 1. The message of this poster is a way of raising awareness on British imperialism and how it's affecting the British. The poster shows how the British were using Africa as a way to fuel their economy. For instance, through clearing Africa's jungles and turning them into gold mines, the British were able to sell millions of products and therefore profit. In addition, the poster may have been a way of the British showing off their success in using Africa and mining its resources.

    2. The poster gives both a negative and positive view of British imperialism. Should the viewer be British, they would praise their homeland for being so successful in the world. They would also probably feel a sense of nationalism. On the other hand, should the viewer be someone who was conquered by the British, such as an African, they would feel a sense of anger and hatred towards the British for taking their native land's resources and using them for their own greedy needs.

  9. 1. The message of this poster is that the African countries exporting goods are not receiving the same amount of imports. Based on this picture, these countries receive 250k to 4 million less goods than the amount they export. As the years go on, the less imported goods they receive. Additionally, the jungles of these countries are being called gold mines. Specifically, they are called this because the resources that come from these countries are useful in a variety of ways, therefore being the gold of the jungle.
    2. I believe that this poster is giving off a negative view of British imperialism because it’s saying how these countries are gaining less and less imports every year. Therefore, this poster expresses how these African countries are earning less as time goes on. This also expresses how other countries are taking from them but not giving back to them equally. Therefore, this is also unequal trade.

  10. 1. This message of this poster is to convince people that imperialism is a good thing. They added how much goods they receive and sell. The poster contains the words "growing markets for our goods" which shows that the poster is created to have the British people support imperialism. There is also a banner that says "jungles today are gold mines tomorrow" and that can represent how imperialism can make the mother country (England) a very wealthy country.

    2. This poster is giving a positive view of British imperialism because it is a propaganda used by the British. The poster only shows the positives of imperialism such as the current wealth accumulated, and the words "growing market for our goods" represents the wealth that is still to be generated, The poster doesn't show the fighting among the British and the Natives, The poster doesn't show anything negative about imperialism.

  11. I say the man objective for this poster would have to be after i read it was that this poster was to get people to buy goods from empire countries. Also i think that this poster was to get British businesses to look for markets. Its also looks like this poster is encouraging the exploitation of African countries. In fact, this poster is showing kind of a negative poster is trying to show that trade with Britain has helped to develop these countries and could help to develop them further. But at the same time, the poster is saying that by buying goods from African countries, Britain would be creating good things and customers for British businesses in these countries. This more like a positive effect from this poster.

The message of this poster is to advertise goods. It shows that by growing markets in tropical African colonies, it would lead to more goods. If this continues to happen and gets encouraged there would be good trade. The poster shows the amount of goods sold and received. Based on the Data, the amount of goods they received were quite relevant to the amount of goods being sold.
This poster gives a positive view on British Imperialism because trade is being influenced by the Africans. The Africans are starting to sell and receive goods a lot more. They are starting to become successful as they are trading with other countries. It also shows that Africa is starting to become advanced since they're making posters/logos.

  13. The message of this poster is to encourage British to discover and colonize the African countries. Also, this poster is passing the message to the Africans that, as long as you corporate and making good progress with the British empire, you will receive great benefits. The undiscovered jungle in Africa, the British will help to discover and utilize its natural resources and turn them into money.
I believe this poster give a positive view of British imperialism. It's advertisement is very attractive to most of the people, either British and Africa. For African, their country have abundance of resources that can sell for a great price, but they don't have the advanced technologies to help them discover all of the resources. This advertisement poster can bring positive view for English Imperialism by helping the African to discover their wealth.

  14. British Imperialism Poster
In the propaganda poster from 1927 called “Jungles Today Are Tomorrow’s Gold Mines,” is both a captivating and sends a striking message to its viewers. The message that the artist is conveying to its reader is how strong/powerful British imperialism is and how it will help Europe become even wealthier by expanding into the continent of Africa. Furthermore, it hints and gives not only a detailed image but also a statistical chart on Britain’s increasing wealth through expansion and trade throughout the years; exporting goods such as rubber, cocoa beans, and gems/minerals really helped the British economy flourish.
This poster gives a positive view on British imperialism because; the image is full of smiles and happiness setting an enlightened tone which can be seen on the people’s faces. Furthermore, the chart of statistics that shows the constant growth of British wealth from the goods and spoils imported and exported to and from Africa and the mother country.

  15. 1. I believe that this poster has two messages like most advertisements. it has an obvious message which is the plausible message and the hidden message which is the subliminal message. The obvious message is that they want people to buy goods from empire countries and to get British entrepreneurs to invest in the colonies. the hidden message is that the colonized people aren’t as good as the British because of their appearance and the way they lived. the british just thought that they would be able to get anything and everything the easy way without thinking about how it would or could affect others and other countries. this made the british seem superior to the other countries and all the other countries wanted to be like the british so they just let the british take over because that was the "right" thing to do in order to be just like the british.
The poster gives both a positive and a negative view on british imperialism. It shows a positive view because it showed how the british were successful in imperializing. What makes it good was that it was good for business and it promoted the economy. what made it bad was that the british were exploiting the africans and that nowadays we are civilized and we know human rights. however the way that the british were treating the africans was "ok" to the british. no one really ever looked into the treatment of the africans by the british. the only people who knew what was really going on was the british.

  16. 1.The message of the poster is to show how the expansions of gold mines have led to an increase in goods sold. As the years progressed he amount of money made from good sold increased. This same pattern also occurred to good received by tropical African colonies. This is due to the imperialism of the British on the African Colonies. Since they are able to make the jungles into gold mines they are able to increase these statistics.
2.This poster views British imperialism as a good thing. Since it was made by the British it has a bias view on British imperialism. It wants to show how the British have helped the African colonies economies. This can be concluded by the statistics shown on the poster. The statistics show how as time went on the amount of money made from the goods sold and goods received increased.

  17. 1. This poster is implying the fact that there is a lot of gold from the jungles in their environment. Gold mining was a way to get money, and it was used for trade, and other resources. Many people wanted to gold mine because it gives them the chance to hit the jackpot, and give them the chance of making a successful living. Although it was rare, many people obtained a large amount of gold that could've changed their lives at the time. Whatever jungle they had, they could've cut it down to make a gold digging mine for workers.

    2. It gives a negative view of the British Imperialism because it shows that the British can cut down jungles to make areas to mine for gold. They've given more goods than they've received. This shows that they wasted their resources opening up areas to mine for gold, and receiving less than what they've given LOSING profit. It has a negative impact on the British, as well as it shows how careless they are with their resources. Being careless may affect the British in the future.

  18. 1.The message of this poster can be summarized into one sentence. To persuade people to explore and settle in a new area like Gold Rush in America. Similar to Gold Rush, this poster was telling and giving people a dream of becoming rich. Thousands of people left their home explore and settle in a new area, by this movemoent. More and more towns or cities were settled, the increase of economy and population made the country became weathly and powerful.
2.This poster give me both positive and negative view of British imperialism, the conflicts between outsiders and natives. As long as the outsiders were settled, the space of natives would be limited plus the differences of culture and language. The conflicts might develop into wars between each and the cause of chaos. However, it also give me the positive view of British imperialism. The modern technology and knowledge brought by the outsiders, spread throughout the area would made the natives live in better and easy life.

  19. 1) The poster shows how much of a strong impact the British have on other countries. The poster above shows that they take over countries such as Africa, and change them-turning it into a source of profit. They see new Africa as a land to bring in profit due to its jungles, allowing them to turn the land into something more useful.

    2) The poster gives off both a positive and negative view on imperialism. If an imperialist, such as Cecil Rhodes were to view this, he would think of this as a good thing because the British is taking African land that in inhabitable and turning it into something else, while a non imperialist would view this as a negative effect. They would dislike British imperialism because they would argue that the British doesn't care about the agriculture or the people, only caring about their own benefits they gain from this land.
